I Now Pronounce You Husband and Wife

Wow its been a whirl wind week. My family got in on Wednesday of last week. We went to Holland for 3 days and then Belgium for a day and the rest was touring around Germany. I was so happy that they were here! We had such a blast! On the other hand, we had an added stress of my father in law getting sick. We didn't even know if he was going to make it to the wedding. Then came the big day! Everything was wonderful. Everyone was there! A great sunny day. But the bad part about it.....it was 90 degrees and humid. Oh dear God, if we ever renew our vows, we are not doing it on our anniversary ;)

On a sad note, my family is now back in the states. :( I am so thankful that they were here to share this special day with us. I thank my parents for everything they did for us while they were here! I will never forget it!

Going to the Chapel

So yes, I know I have been really bad at blogging lately. Hey, can you blame me? I am totally submerged in learning the German language and spending every possible second with my soon to be husband. Yes, you read correctly. We are getting married! August 19, 2009, here in Düsseldorf! As of right now, my parents are coming! Possibly Grandma's too! I am so excited! I really did not know what to expect from my parents, but I am so glad it was positive. So there is a lot of planning to do in 2 months time but I can't wait to call myself his wife. He is my everything and my all. Who would have ever thought that I would find the love of my life half way around the world. If only my Great Grandfather could see me know. He would be so excited to see me back here! The more I learn and the more I see, the prouder and prouder I am of my heritage and my culture.

Willkommen in Deutschland und Europa

So I am here, and I am alive :) Amsterdam is amazing. I haven't seen too much of Germany yet because we decided to go on a couple day get away for some well deserved alone time. But wow, I am definetly no longer in Kansas (or Wisconsin ;)). The first thing....the AUTOBAHN! Ach du Scheiße. I thought I drove fast. Compared to here, I move at the pace of a snail. 170km/h-220 Km/h is perfectly acceptable speeds here on the Autobahn. In translation, thats 105 mph-140mph. I don't foresee myself driving here anytime soon. But I am going to get back to spending time with my love, but will be back soon :)

Leaving on a jet plane.....Don't know when I'll be back again

Wow, what a day. I don't know if I am more excited or nervous. I have moved before. I have moved across the country, but this is totally different, and leaves me with a totally different feeling. This is an ocean, 9000 miles away. A new country, a new language, a new life. I'm excited that I don't have to stay another day apart from Patrick but I am anxious. Anxious about living in a different country and more about me and his parents. Well you see, my German doesn't actually exist and his parents don't speak English, so you see where the problem may lie. We will see! I will keep you up to date :) Good Bye America!
